The successful design of a DC Coupled  Stand Alone Power System (SAPS) relies on a well resolved balance between the solar or PV array, Charge Controller, Battery Bank, Inverter/Charger and Genset.
The Off Grid Power System provides power to your house by routing DC electricity produced by the solar panel array to a MPPT charge controller, which regulates and optimises the charging of a deep cycle battery bank. This battery bank then supplies power to the house via the inverter which converts the DC battery power into your standard 240V/50Hz AC Â mains power allowing you to run and operate standard 240V white goods and appliances.

Should the solar array be incapable of charging the batteries during periods of inclement weather, the inverter/charger will enable the gensets electricity to supply the buildings load requirements and also charge the battery bank. Once the battery bank is fully charged, the genset will be shut down.

With the solar industry becoming over crowded with new brands and manufacturers, we only recommend and specify equipment that has been extensively tested in our test faciltiy on the central coast of NSW.

The battery banks in all of our system specifications are maintenance free, Gel or VRLA batteries which typically offer a 12-15 year design life. Lithium battery technology is also becoming more feasible however there are still many safety considerations with Lithium and design considerations when used in a Stand Alone Power System application. The majority of systems have been designed to operate with 2 days autonomy (ie. without charge) and are based on a 30-50% battery Depth Of Discharge (DoD). A backup generator is required for extended cloudy periods and an essential part of any well designed Stand Alone Power System.


2 Kwh OFF GRID SOLAR POWER PORTABLE KIT (Caravan)

This portable solar power kit provides 2 Kwhs of usable power per day (ie. 4.7 Kwh battery bank providing 2 kwhs of ‘usable’ power @ a 40% DoD, based on the batteries C10 rating.) Ideal for running the basic load requirements of a small caravan, 4WD, camper trailer or hutt such as a small 40L, 12V/ 240V fridge, basic LED lighting, small LCD tv, laptop computer, stereo. phone charger and small 12V water pump. The Inverter offers a sturdy robust construction complete with carry handle and can power 240V and 12V appliances simultaneously and is simple and easy to set up and pack away.
