FLEXMAX MPPT Photovoltaic Charge Controller

The FLEXmax family of charge controllers will increase a photovoltaic array power yield by up to 30% compared to non-MPPT controllers, using advanced software algorithm to maintain the highest charge current is delivered to your battery bank, regardless of the weather conditions. Thanks to active cooling and intelligent thermal management cooling, Outback charge controllers can operate continuously at their full maximum current rating of 60 or 80 Amps, in ambient temperatures as high as 40°C.

Included in all of the FLEXmax Charge Controllers are the revolutionary features first developed by OutBack Power, including support for a wide range of nominal battery voltages and the ability to step-down a higher voltage solar array to recharge a lower voltage battery bank. A built-in, backlit 80 character display shows the current status and logged system performance data for the last 128 days at the touch of a button. The integrated OutBack network communications allows FLEXmax series Charge Controllers to be remotely programmed and monitored via a MATE system display and provides unrivaled complete system integration.

SmartSolar Charge Controllers

Ultra-fast Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT)
Especially in case of a clouded sky, when light intensity is changing continuously, an ultra-fast MPPT controller will improve energy harvest by up to 30% compared to PWM charge controllers and by up to 10% compared to slower MPPT controllers.
Advanced Maximum Power Point Detection in case of partial shading conditions
If partial shading occurs, two or more maximum power points may be present on the power-voltage curve. Conventional MPPTs tend to lock to a local MPP, which may not be the optimum MPP.
The innovative SmartSolar algorithm will always maximize energy harvest by locking to the optimum MPP.
